Abstract
We believe that the quality of medical care in the United States would be further enhanced by even greater emphasis on the commitment of healthcare providers to the well-being of their patients. This commitment involves not only technical expertise but also a deep understanding of the diverse needs and backgrounds of their patients. We believe that enhanced cultural competence and patient-centeredness are necessary to address inequalities in access and delivery.1This content is limited to qualifying members.
