Histologic Correlation of Lymphangiograms in Hodgkin's Disease An Evaluation of Diagnostic Criteria

Authors: JOSEPH R. MARTIRE MD

Abstract

AbstractA retrospective blind study was conducted for 60 patients with Hodgkin's disease who had a lymphangiogram and subsequent staging laparotomy. The study used histologic correlation to determine accuracy rate (85%) and reliability o diagnostic criteria. Node architecture (“foamy nodes” and “rim sign”) and anterior spine-node measurement were the most valuable diagnostic tools while size of the node was a poor indicator of abnormality.
