Melkersson-Rosenthal Syndrome: Report of a Case in Pregnancy
Abstract
SummaryA case of Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome associated with pregnancy is reported and he important current syndrome is a mildly deforming entity characterized by recurrent facial paralysis, nonpitting, noninflammatory facial edema and in approximately one-third of the cases, lingua plicata. It is chronic and does not respond to treatment. Although one cannot draw conclusions from one case, Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome does not appear to affect pregnancy nor does pregnancy seem to affect the disease.This content is limited to qualifying members.
