Norethindrone with Estrogen as an Oral Contraceptive: A Preliminary Report
Abstract
The item of interest here is the small effective dose of a progestogen in combination with a larger proportionate dose of an estrogen as compared to previous combinations used. Much more work will need to be done relative to optimal combinations, as well as careful observations of the side effects of such potent drugs. Though short-term studies reveal no serious hazards, time will be needed to evaluate possible long-term effects upon target organs.This content is limited to qualifying members.
