Right Ventricular Extension of Inferior Wall Myocardial Infarction: Importance of Right-Sided Electrocardiogram

Authors: Nitin Mahajan, MD, MPH, Luis Afonso, MD

Abstract

To the Editor:

Right ventricular myocardial infarction (RVMI) is associated with substantial in-hospital mortality and morbidity. These cases can be frequently missed. It is important to identify these patients early to facilitate timely revascularization. This case highlights the utility of right-sided electrocardiogram (EKG) in the identification of such patients.
