Superior Vena Caval Syndrome Response with Initially High Daily Dose Irradiation

Authors: MAJ WILLIAM H. FISHERMAN MC, USA, MAJ JOHN S. BRADFIELD MC, USA

Abstract

The authors recommend treatment by irradiation if the symptoms warrant and the sputum cytology is positive, before a histologic diagnosis has been made. Further investigation, as bronchoscopy or biopsy, may be possible with greater safety after the obstructive symptoms are relieved.
