The Effects of Smoking on the Respiratory System in Normal Individuals

Abstract

Confusion and conflicting opinion will continue for a long time in the controversy concerning potential ill effects from the smoking of cigarettes. This study considers the physiologic findings after a brief and early segment of the smoker's exposure to tobacco smoke. If this group of subjects could be re-examined at five year intervals for two decades most interesting data might evolve.
