Abstract

In diseases of matabsorption a study of the absorption of fat may be extremely important in the final evaluation. The methods available in the past for such studies were either laborious or open to error. The use of an oleate labeled with a radioactive element when mixed with a food fat offers a simplified and apparently accurate method of measuring the uptake of fat from the gut.
