The Poliomyelitis Patient with Respiratory Failure: Diagnosis, Management, and Results of Treatment
Abstract
Respiratory aids have put an entirely new aspect on the outlook of patients having bulbar poliomyelitis or having involvement of the muscles of respiration. However, the rehabilitation of such patients is the ultimate problem which involves a highly specialized team including the patient's family and his doctor.
