Abstract
Transitioning from preclinical to clinical education can be a terrifying prospect for medical students and is commonly cited as a major point of anxiety in medical education. Anxiety around clerkship performance is likely to become worse in the coming years. Because the US Medical Licensing Examination Step 1 has been ungraded and medical schools increasingly enact pass/fail preclinical education, clerkship performance is becoming the only domain in which students are directly evaluated.This content is limited to qualifying members.
