Abstract

The expansion of our therapeutic armamentarium in the last several decades by the synthesis of new drugs and chemicals is nothing short of remarkable. But the physician should ever be mindful of the fact that progress has been made only with a certain hazard in the balance. This should merely emphasize the need for clear-cut indications for drug therapy in a given case.
