Treatment of Orbital Deformity by Silicone Injection

Authors: DAVID W. BISHOP M.D.

Abstract

The author has described a method of augmenting the tissue in the orbit. Since the Food and Drug Administration has ruled an injected substance to be a drug, this material can not be used in injectable form. Though work with this experimental treatment cannot be continued at the moment, its description is justified as steps already taken when and if F.D.A. reclassifies this form of silicone.
