A Poliomyelitis Immunity Survey in Hillsborough County, Florida
Abstract
A serologic survey for antibodies to poliovirus among more than 2,000 individuals was conducted in Tampa, suburban and rural Hillsborough County, Florida. The overall antibody levels were similar in the three regions, but levels for types 1 and 2 were significantly higher than those for type 3 in all age groups. Children 0 to 4 years of age had lower levels than did other age groups. The value of such surveys in planning imunization programs is discussed. This content is limited to qualifying members.
