Cervical Syndromes Use of a Comfortable Cervical Collar as an Adjunct in Their Management

Authors: JAMES W. GIBSON MD

Abstract

Abstract:Neck pain may result from trauma, arthritis, intervertebral disk disease, nerve root irritation, anxiety and tension, and postural strain. A polyurethane collar designed to hold the head in 10|Mo flexion in a way that limits neck rotation and provides a modest amount of local heat, while at the same time is applied and removed easily, is helpful in managing petients with any one of these cervical syndromes.
