Commentary on "Vitamin D Insufficiency/Deficiency Management"
Abstract
In this issue of the Southern Medical Journal, Kuriacose and Olive present a retrospective review of vitamin D insufficiency/ deficiency in a cohort of ambulatory patients seen in aninternal medicine clinic in Johnson City, Tennessee.1 The article seems to be an expansion of their earlier work, with an added arm of supplementation in appropriate subjects.2 In the earlier study, they found that more than half of the subjects tested had low vitamin D levels.
