Comparative Morphology of Chronic Bronchitis and Chronic Sinusitis, with Discussion of “Sinobronchial” Syndrome

Authors: S DONALD GREENBERG M.D., JERRY Z. AINSWORTH M.D.

Abstract

The authors attempt a correlation between the pathologic changes in the bronchial mucosa and that of the sinuses in the presence of pulmonary disease and in instances of sinusitis unaccompanied by pulmonary symptoms. Factors such as cigarette smoking and allergy may play a role in the chronic mucosal changes in the respiratory tract.
