Authors: JOHN J. SCHWAB M.D.

Abstract

The author points out so well the needs (and the gains to be derived) for greater ease in communication between the psychiatrist and the nonpsychiatric practitioner. The recognition of advantages of earlier psychiatric consultation for many patients, not as a"last resort," and an active role in hospital duties will permit to the psychiatrist a much deserved and needed place in the medical community.
