Dissolution of a Phytobezoar with Short-Term Medical Management

Abstract

This case report illustrates the complication of a gastric ulcer accompanying the use of papain for the dissolution of a phytobezoar. The report is the first to show that papain given for a short period may be as effective as its prolonged use.
