Eye on Religion: The Bahá’í Faith

Authors: Atoosa Kourosh, MD, FAAP, Emitis Hosoda, MD

Abstract

Central Teaching

The Bahá’í faith is the youngest of the world’s independent religions. By an independent religion, we mean a religion with its own prophet-founder which is not a sect or offshoot of another religion. The Faith finds it source in the teachings of Bahá’u’lláh. The name Bahá’u’lláh means the Glory of God in Arabic and the name Bahá’í means follower of Glory or follower of the Light.
