Improving Exposure of Physician Trainees to Patient Safety and Quality Improvement
Abstract
Across a spectrum of specialties, physicians have embraced a culture of quality improvement (QI) and patient safety (PS). Teaching the next generation of physicians about these important topics is a well-established educational metric and core competency. Per the 2019 Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) training program requirements, the program, its faculty, residents, and fellows must actively participate in patient safety systems and contribute to a culture of safety.1This content is limited to qualifying members.
