Abstract

Neuroradiology http://spinwarp.ucsd.edu/NeuroWeb is prepared by John R. Hesselink, MD, with pathology provided by Nancy Karpinski, MD, University of California, San Diego Medical Center, Radiology Department. At the top of the page is the “J Hess Collection” which is a list of 24 teaching files. When opening the cases, the image legend is available via the drop down box, and similarly, the brief textual description of the case is available via the “Related Text” button at the bottom of the page. The collections are primarily concerned with diagnostic neuroradiology. “The Visiting Professor Series” offers more elaborate descriptive text and is defined as “A collection of unusual, difficult, and sometimes impossible cases to help make the professor's visit a memorable one!” The “Normal Anatomy Series” is a series of teaching slideshows in preparation for “Text Syllabus” which offers in-depth teaching on the brain, orbit, and spine. The syllabus opens to succinct and structured dissertations. A caveat at the bottom of the screen advises that “This website contains post-graduate educational materials for physicians, fellows, and residents in training.”
