Nasolabial Subcutaneous Pedicle Flap

Authors: M R GRATE JR. MD, J N HICKS MD

Abstract

Abstract: The use of the subcutaneous flap technic is advocated for small full-thickness defects of the face. Two cases are presented; one using the technic to repair a full-thickness loss to the nasal dorsum and another in which a repair of a nasal septal perforation was accomplished. The technic minimizes scarring, eliminates excision of excessive tissue and staging, and allows a larger angle of flap rotation.
