Abstract

Many women visit their primary care physician or gynecologist because of abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB)—bleeding that is excessive or occurs outside of a woman’s normal menstruation cycle. There are many causes for AUB, including benign growths, medications, infection, cancer, or pregnancy; likewise, there are several treatment options available for most types of AUB.
