Abstract

Determinations of SGOT and SLDH have been used in the diagnosis of renal infarction. However, abnormalities in their levels obviously are nonspecific. Therefore the authors propose the use of plasma renin activity as offering a specific diagnostic criterion for renal infarction. They report two instances of an increase in renin activity in acute renal infarction. Such change does not occur in cases of myocardial infarction.
