Primary Cavernous Hemangioma of the Thyroid Gland

Authors: Emmanuel Atta Agaba, MD, FRCSEdin

Abstract

Much of what is known today about the thyroid gland, its function in health and disease, is attributed to the pioneering work by Emil Theodor Kocher.1 Although at the dawn of a new millennium, videoscopic-assisted thyroidectomy is now possible, and the fundamental technical details remain the same as was described by Kocher at the end of the 19th century.
