Schizophrenia—New Concepts

Abstract

The authors report studies which point to the presence of an abnormal lipoprotein in schizophrenic patients. It seems that the metabolic activity of this substance may affect intracellular enzymatic activity, especially in certain loci in the brain, to become manifest as the disease schizophrenia.
