Abstract

The authors review current concepts concerning the classification and nomenclature of the neuromuscular diseases so often confusing to the non-neurologist. This includes a number of eponymic syndromes as well as the muscular dystrophies and atrophies. Some attention is given also to the pathogenesis of these disorders.
