Suicide and Global Warming

Abstract

To the Editor: Since the onset of the Industrial Revolution, human activity has been altering the environment, and carbon dioxide production is causing global climate change.1 We have already seen the consequences of global climate change in medicine. These consequences include increased morbidity and mortality in susceptible individuals as a result of extreme weather events (eg, deaths from heat waves).
