The Diagnostic Applications of Angiography of the Upper Extremities
Abstract
Abstract:Angiography provides the best preoperative means for defining the nature and extent of vascular lesions of the upper extremities, so that the surgeon may attack the problem most effectively. We reviewed 75 consecutive upper extremity angiograms to evaluate the effectiveness of this type of angiogram. A variety of lesions were uncovered, including aneurysms, emboli, vascular occlusions, and traumatic injuries. Not only was the point of obstruction or disruption of the vessel important, but demonstration of the underlying cause was critical to the successful surgical management of the patient.This content is limited to qualifying members.
