Recent Advances in the Treatment of Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

Authors: GLENN M. CLARK M.D., STANLEY KAPLAN M.D.

Abstract

The management of “essential” hypertension by drugs continues with a constant flow of new drugs or variations of those produced first several years ago. What the ultimate effects of this treatment will be no one can guess, and another ten or fifteen years will be needed to demonstrate a clue as to what the final picture will be. Careful studies need to be built up for interpretation in later years.
